Blog Entry #1: Flying to Vienna departure Montreal

Well so leaving Ottawa to Cornwall was very uneventful. We arrived in Cornwall to wait for my Mom to get home so that we could leave with her and Dad. They were dropping us off in Dorval.

We got to the airport in plenty of time. We checked in, but the lady at the counter was not very nice. She didn't really acknowledge us at all. So once we were all ready, we headed off for dinner. We ate at St-Hubert which is always good. Security was quite quick, but as usual I get scanned with the wand...it's my jewelry. Really!

So we had 1.5hrs to kill till we boarded at 8pm and really nothing interesting happened. Trez had to get his picture though.

As you can see he is really excited! So taking Trez and we got up to board, Jeff noticed a lady sleeping near by. He decided to wake her up to see if she was waiting for our flight. She was....so we left her to see her way on board. Finally she gets on, and ends up sitting right behind us. What I noticed this time is that she really smelt like booze.

Well the plane was very squishy and hot. But we figured once we were in the air it would be fine. So the safety video comes on and we start taxiing out. Yay we are on our way! except....a flight attendant runs from the front of the plane to the behind us. They can't wake the lady up to seat belt her before takeoff...so everything stops, the plane and everything. An announcement for a doctor comes on the PA. Then the EMTs come on and now we are 30 min after our takeoff time. Ugh! So we are then told that she is being taken off and her luggage removed. So we finally leave the airport at 10:15pm. As we all melt in our seats...

So at 10:30pm we get food and wine - there are babies crying, the iPod doesn't drown the out...So lets eat and try to sleep...
